Jon has led AI platforms, global media brands, and startups into new frontiers. He served as President of Vilynx, an AI platform acquired by Apple in 2020.
As President of CNN/US from 2004-2010, Jon doubled profits and led the network to its highest-ever ratings and record number of awards by introducing tech innovations including the Magic Touchscreen Wall, the first-ever Facebook livestream, and the first network integration of Twitter.
As Executive Vice President of CBS News, Jon oversaw “60 Minutes.” His first venture-backed startup, The FeedRoom, was a pioneering streaming platform that launched the first-ever over-the-top product, CBS March Madness Online, which is now a $100m annual business. Jon is a member of the board of directors of Belden, Inc. (NYSE: BDC) a global data transport conglomerate.
Doug has spent nearly 30 years in and around the media industry, as an analyst, strategist, change management advisor and operator.
He is currently an independent advisor and consultant and writes The Mediator, a widely read and circulated newsletter tracking the ongoing transformation of media. Doug is frequently invited to present his views about the evolution of the media business at corporate meetings, institutional investor conferences, industry events and academic institutions. Prior to his current work, Doug was EVP and Chief Strategy Officer at Turner, a division of WarnerMedia, and member of the Executive Committee, where he headed the Corporate and Data Strategy functions. Prior to that position, Shapiro was the SVP of International and Corporate Strategy at Time Warner Inc.
